Our read
The Edge 2 Pro is the no-glow, faster-trigger version of the Edge 2: 40 MP photos, 1440p video with sound, a 0.30 s trigger and 100 ft detection and flash claims, plus GPS, Live Aim and Moultrie AI. Moultrie last listed it at $119.99 and has since pulled the product page, so you’ll mostly find it used or as leftover store stock.
Its 2024 FCC grant shows a Quectel EG915Q-NA Cat 1bis modem and six LTE bands, the same radio and band list as the current Edge 3 Pro. If your Edge 2 Pro has weak signal, a newer Edge won’t fix it on its own; look at which bands your carrier runs where the camera hangs (band guide).
Like every Moultrie cell cam, it needs a paid Moultrie plan. There’s no free tier.
Bottom line: Worth it used or on clearance under the Edge 3 Pro’s price. At full price, the Edge 3 Pro has the same radio, a 50 MP claim and an independent detection win.
Maker claims vs filings and tests
"Auto Connect to all four major networks" Moultrie product page (archived Jul 30, 2026)
Six LTE bands in the filing: 2, 4, 5, 12, 13 and 66. No Band 14 or Band 71. FCC LTE test report (BALUN)
Same band list as the Edge 3 and Edge 3 Pro. It can use AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile on shared bands, but not T-Mobile's 600 MHz rural band or AT&T's FirstNet band, which matters on the edge of coverage.
TrailCamPro: native resolution of nearly all trail cams is 5 MP or less TrailCamPro 2026 shootout
40 MP is an upscaled output size, not a sensor.

The LTE test report filed with the grant lists "FDD LTE Band 2/4/5/12/13/66" and hardware version 2.0. The SKU on Moultrie's spec table, MMC-14125, matches the FCC ID. Source: https://fccid.io/2AJQ6MMC-14125, checked 2026-10-22.
Band labels are ours, matched from each frequency range. Output figures are the filing's ERP (below 1 GHz) or EIRP (above 1 GHz) values; they show what was certified, not how well the camera holds a signal. See LTE bands and carriers explained.
