Our read
The Edge 4 is filed with the FCC as model MCAM4, covering a brown AA version and two solar versions. The radio matches the Edge 3: a Quectel EG915Q-NA Cat 1bis modem on Bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 13 and 66.
What’s new is around the radio. Moultrie rates it IP67, sells a $59.99 solar conversion kit with a 2,600 mAh pack, and adds Moultrie Connect for its Bluetooth feeders. The trigger claim is 0.40 s, a step slower than the Edge 3 Pro’s 0.30 s.
At the $99.99 special price it’s an easy upgrade over the Edge 3. At $129.99 regular, compare it against the Tactacam Reveal X 4.0.
Bottom line: Pick it over the Edge 3 for the IP67 rating and solar option. Pick the Edge 3 Pro instead if detection is the priority and it’s still on sale.

On paper the newer camera is slower than the Edge 3 Pro, which costs the same while it's on sale.

A real reason to pick the 4 over the 3 if your cameras sit through wet winters.
